The law office was founded in 1990 as a branch office of the Austrian law firm Heller, Löber, Bahn & Partner. Our law firm thus became one of the first foreign law firms established in the former Czechoslovakia. After the merger with the second largest German law firm Bruckhaus Westrick Stegemann it was renamed to Bruckhaus Westrick Heller Löber, which was in 2000, in connection with the merger with the English law firm Freshfields Deringer, changed to Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. In 2002 the Prague office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer was taken over by the current partners of Vejmelka & Wünsch, Josef Vejmelka and Petr Wünsch, who had been partners in the above-mentioned foreign law firms. The law office Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer belongs among the foreign law firms with which Vejmelka & Wünsch closely co-operates.

The law office Vejmelka & Wünsch provides comprehensive legal services in all areas of law, relating particularly to business activity, but also to the activities of public institutions and authorities of local administration. Advisory services of the law office Vejmelka & Wünsch comprise corporate law, including corporate acquisitions and joint ventures, media and telecommunications law, competition law, bank and insurance law, legal issues pertaining to real estate transactions and construction law, labour law, intellectual property law, but also legal issues pertaining to energy law and protection of the environment, tax law, commercial and civil law obligations as well as private international law. The wide range of provided services encompasses also out-of-court settlements, representation of clients before courts and arbitration tribunals and defending their interests in insolvency proceedings and in proceedings before the Competition Office, financial, labour, building, customs and other administrative authorities. The activities of the law office include also establishing of foreign corporations’ subsidiaries and branch offices in the Czech Republic and their representation before registry courts.

A regular part of the activities of the law office Vejmelka & Wünsch consists of the realization  of comprehensive due diligence analyses and preparation of contractual documents in connection with the implementation of strategic business projects (including the so-called “green-field projects”) of foreign as well as domestic investors in the Czech Republic in various industrial and commercial sectors.

Among the lawyers active in our law office are also experts possessing special qualifications in the area of IT law and pharmaceutical law, consumer protection law and a number of other areas of private as well as public law.
