He obtained his doctorate at Charles University, Prague, Faculty of Law, in 1978. From 1978 to 1980 he worked as a lawyer in the Czechoslovak Trade Bank (Československá obchodní banka), where he specialized in international credit agreements. From 1980 to 1989 he worked as a lawyer, and later as the head of the legal departments of a number of Ministries responsible for the field of trade and industry. From 1989 to 1991 he specialized, within the relevant working group of the Industrial Property Office, in harmonizing the basic Czechoslovak industrial property laws with Western European legal regulations. Petr Wünsch is a member of the Czech Bar Association and IBA. From 1991 to 1998 he worked as a lawyer in the Prague office of Heller Löber Bahn & Partner. He continued to practise there in the period 1998 to 2000, during which it was a branch of Bruckhaus Westrick Heller Löber, and from 2000 to 2002 when it formed part of the network of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. In 2002, together with Josef Vejmelka, he took over the Prague office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and established an unlimited partnership of lawyers known as Vejmelka & Wünsch, v.o.s. (now s.r.o.) He speaks Czech, German, English, Swedish, Russian and Slovak, being an officially certified interpreter of German and Swedish. He is a co-author of the publication Czechoslovakian Business Law and of various legal articles relating, in particular, to corporate law, as well as international private law and industrial property issues. Presently, he specializes in commercial law, M&A, real estate law, intellectual property law and financial and labour law. Petr Wünsch is an arbitrator of the Arbitration Court attached to the Economic Chamber of the Czech Republic and the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic.
